Mill Ridge Sales
Thirty-nine Grade One Winners just since 2000.
Our success in raising the world’s best racehorses is rooted in the morals and principles established by Alice Chandler in founding Mill Ridge in 1962. In nearly 60 years of operation, Mill Ridge has built a reputation for success in the business, focusing on select consignments to provide the utmost integrity and detail to our clients.
The Mill Ridge team has inherited Mrs. Chandler’s passion for the thoroughbred, which is instilled in every aspect of the farm’s operation. By delivering the highest quality of care, we work diligently to nurture the athlete while preserving the intimate nature of the horse, and take great pride in the results they produce.
We are proud of our sales records, and realize that none of this would be possible without our clientele.
Sellers and buyers alike recognize that our reputation goes before us, and by partnering with us they will join a framework that has been historically held in high regard as “the Mill Ridge Way.”
Buying or selling a broodmare—sometimes pregnant, sometimes not—is a long-term investment in the thoroughbred lifestyle and community. After all, it will be years before you see a potential foal grow to racing age and thunder their hooves on the track. But in many ways, there’s no better place to start!
A mare in-foal is a good investment in the future. Her overall health, age, size, and bloodlines are all things to look for. Your bloodstock agent can advise and inform you when it comes to buying and selling broodmares and prospects
Broodmares & Prospects
Mill Ridge has built a reputation for success in the industry. Since 2000, we have seen 38 Grade 1 winners cross the finish line to stand in the Winner's Circle. We are proud of all our graduates' successes. We share their success with our clients, the breeders, and their owners.
Industry members selling or buying a horse with us will experience the Mill Ridge standard of raising and selling quality horses, with proven results on the racetrack.
Yearlings
Although weanlings are untested, these young horses can be exciting prospects to purchase. As an owner, it’s also an exciting time to sell.
In any given year, an active buyer could purchase several weanlings—thus having several chances of the winner’s circle—for the same price as one yearling.
The right time to sell your weanling is based on their bloodlines, conformation, and the intuition of your bloodstock agent.
