Mare and Foal Boarding

We board broodmares in-foal and with their foals by their sides, giving them the finest possible care.

Being a thoroughbred racehorse nursery is the heart of what we do at Mill Ridge Farm. One of our favorite aspects of life here is caring for mares throughout their pregnancies and during the delivery of their foals.

We practice our philosophy of “taking care of the horse, and the horse will take care of you” every day, and it’s most evident in the care of our mares and foals.

Foals stay by their mother’s sides until they are four to six months old, when they are weaned and join others their age in pasture. Together, those weanlings learn to become potential champions.
